Hoot, Hoot, new Owls on the shop!

I was busy last night making 4 Owls. I had 2 custom owls to make which I will share with you when she receives them. I couldn't stop there so I had to make 2 for the shop:) Here are the little hooters....Meet Gerty and Sherbert!

I also want to share this sweet moment between to brothers.

This book is so sweet. It is called I Love You, Through and Through. They always lay on the couch together like this in the morning. Either reading like this or Jonathan is drinkng is bottle. The older Jonathan gets the closer their relationship gets. Corrina and Carmen were always like this and they are now almost 12 and 10 and they still do almost everything together. I even find them sleeping in Corrina's bed together every once in awhile. Are they not too cute:)
Have a good evening everyone!

A nice surprise!

Before I was heading off to bed tonight I went to go turn off the computer and noticed I had a convo on Etsy. It was such a nice surprise to hear that I was going to be featured on a blog again. Dana, let me know about her interest in one of my owls and then blogged about it. How fun is that!!! You can read her story here.................http://mommybrainnw.blogspot.com/2009/06/im-in-love-with-owl.html

Have a great weekend everyone!

vacation is not for resting

Matt's vacation is over:( I don't think we have ever done more in a week then we did on his vacation. The week started off with him refinishing our wood floors.
before

after

This is where we all have been living for the last week and a half.

It has been a little crazy with all of us in this room. Luckily it is a large dining room. As you can see by the floors they will be next.

We also fit some fun into his vacation. We went to the park a few times.

Matt's brother and his family came for the week and stayed out at his mom's. We went there a couple of times.

I did a little shopping:)
Ava got to spend 2 nights with her favorite little cousin!

We also managed to go to a lake and swim. Those pictures are on my other camera. Maybe I will put those up another time.

I spent 8 hours painting the living room! I don't think I have ever spent 8 hours doing anything. And it still is not done. I have a few little finishing touches to make. I have been changing the mantel display every few hours. I am going for something different this time.

I am just tired writing about it. The color is Olive green. I love it. Actually it may be the same color as my cousin Barb's living room. I found this color in a magazine. They had a chair that is the same color as the fireplace. These pictures are a little dark though. At the moment we still have all the furniture in the dining room. We will have to move it back this week. Next project is the dining room.

Splish Slash it's Zhaina's 3rd Birthday Bash

As I promised yesterday, I had something super cute to share! This is the doll I made for my niece's birthday.

She is in dance class, so this little dollie needed a tutu. I made it from a curtain that the girls had in their room and a curtain that went around Corrina's bed. The best part is you can remove it. She turned out sooo cute. But, I think the adults liked her more then she did. I will for sure have to make one for the shop. What do you think?
I got to give her the little dollie today on her 3rd birthday! She had the fun bash at a lake near by her house.

It was perfect weather, for awhile, until the storm came. But she had time to open gifts.......
and eat some cake!
The little kids even dipped their toes in the water. BRRRRRR! Too cold for me, but they didn't seem to mind. Preston even went under. YIKES!!! We had them all sit for a picture and I had to take many to get one where at least most of them were looking my way. Here are couple of the best!
I added this one just because it is sweet:)

Matt is now on Vacation and we have too many plans. First thing up is sanding the living room floor. That means putting all the furniture in the dining room. The kids are gonna think it is some kind of party. I think it will be some kind of FREAK SHOW! We have painting and cementing also on the list. We'll se how much of it gets done with 5 kids and 1 week of vacation:)

Have a great weekend!!!!

Buttons!!!!

I love buttons! When I first started this doll, I had a whole other idea in my head. Once I put her on, another idea came about. So here is Buttons the rag doll!
She has a few "tiny" little details. He bracelet was painted on and if you look close, you can kinf of see on her other arm her painted flower ring. I made also made a new hair pattern for this one. Actually it eas mostly free hand like most of my items. I work better that way. My other favorite part of her is her buttons on her legs.
Tomorrow, I have something so super cute to share. Since it is for Zhaina's birthday tomorrow I will have to wait to show you.

I know I already shared this photo, but I love it!!

I am off to make some little kids some lunch! Hava a great Friday!!

I miss this

I have been thinking a lot about how I need to get busy on the kid's scrapbooks. Poor Jonathan only has a few pages. I thought I would share a little one that I did for Carmen a couple of years ago.

I usually work in 12x12 format, but I made one of these little books for all of the kids, except little Jonathan:(Today I am working on some sympathy cards for my mom's store. And then I think I need a little break from all the crafts for a couple days. We will see how long I can stand not being creative.

I will post later about the new item in the shop.

Have a good day!

So lucky

I feel so lucky with all the attention my shop is getting lately from the review Michelle did. I have had a few other people mention me on their blogs because of it. I just found this one this morning:)http://http://macmomof3.blogspot.com/

I have been sewing, sewing, sewing all week. I needed to get some more stuff up in the shop for my online craft show on the 19th. I am also doing a craft show in July and would like to have a wide variety of items to bring. So I thought I would share the latest that has been put in my shop in the last 24 hours.

I finished another doll late last night, so I will hopefully be getting her in the shop today, if my computer cooperates with me. I also have a very exciting request from a magazine. I will let you know more about that later;)

Have a great Thursday!

Meet Raz and Chaz:) They are in the shop now!

I was featured!

I was asked a couple of weeks ago by Michelle if she could do a review of my products! I have never done this before so I had a lot of questions. She was very kind and answered every silly one. She just put up the review! She did an awesome job and I owe her many thanks!!! You can see the review here!http://flyinggigglesandlollipops.blogspot.com/2009/06/homemaker-hobbies-little-piece-of-me.html#comment-form#comment-form

Tell me what you think! You can leave a comment on her blog as well!!

Here is another owl that was put in the shop today!!

Have a great rest of the day!

Inspiration

I find inspiration everywhere! Yesterday I was inspired to make this.

I found this bloghttp://tearosehome.blogspot.com/. I love it!!! I found it through another blog that she was featured on. She had made this quilt that was so cute and I beleive this is the back of it.

You can see the front of it on her blog. I just love the look of it. Right away I thought of the truck riding across the fabric blocks. I designed the little truck myself, kind of funny since most of stuff is girly. I started with this owl first, to get in the groove with the colors.
Have a great day everyone!!!!

Super busy!!

The shop has been doing really good these last couple of weeks. I had a few custom orders to make, which I will share with you after I know they have received them. I wanted to put some new things in the shop, so I have been working on that. This summer vacation is just kicking my butt though. I thought it would be easier with the kids home so the older ones could help, not true. Preston wantes to be outside all day and he now knows how to ride his bike without training wheels. He is this little 4 year old on this little bike, pooping wheelies and fallinf off and skidding accross his stomach on the cement. He has no fear. My heart just stops everytime he gets on there. I think I may need to calm down but having a boy is so much scarier then a girl. He never sits still. Anyways......I did manage to make 3 new owls that are now in the shop.

For more pics come look at them in the shop.

I have so many new things I want to make and create.................................I just need some time. More to come, stay tuned:)

Have a great Saturday everyone!
