I have to say that one of my most favorite things to do is spend time with my mom and sisters!! We always have lots of good laughs and great memories! Yesterday was no exception. The sweet memories started with finding the boys sleeping together in Preston's bed with their favorite bedtime "jammies".We have an hour drive out to my mom's house, but the kids were pretty good. They past time by playing the ABC game:) Poor Carmen usually gets carsick on the way, but she had one of the "good seats". Ava did well too:)

Our family is more than half of the party!! Hehe:) From left to right are my sisters Brenna, Melissa and Stacy. Good times:)

Halloween is not a favorite holiday of mine, but the kids LOVE it! I only had 4 Trick-or-Treaters this year. I am trying to get back into the blogging thing. It is a challenge!!! As many of you know I have 5 children. My oldest is 14, so she doesn't really need me to be doing things for her, but they all need something from me and that is my time. I struggle with fitting everything into my day for sure! More and more I am realizing that I need to connect with other bloggers on a higher level than just stopping in now and then. This will be a small start for me.

Carmen, just home from school, only to run off to Volleyball practice! This day was such a crabby morning for me. My 3 youngest kids (4, 6 and 9), cleaned the downstairs for me while I was trying to relax in the bath. I am talking vacuuming, folding blankets, picking up toys. It was so great, I cried:)Going shopping! With her.For this Halloween costume:)

I don't think I have ever taken so many pictures of myself:/ My regular camera is broken so I have been using my iphone. Again I am all over the house in these pictures trying to get a good one. Can you settle for ok? I have 2 1/2 days for you this week:)Our downstairs bathroom has the best lighting. But, it is only waist up. This is the 1/2 day. I was in a hurry this day. Friday. They are always super busy. Running around all day! I tried to click a few, but these 2 are as good as it gets.

Ok, now that I am looking at the pictures I have, this day is not that great for pics either:/ This outfit was for shopping with my daughter Carmen and meeting up with my mom, sister Melissa, sister Stacy and her daughter Zhaina:) Such a FUN day!!!
These shoes are so comfortable. My plan was to wear them for the purpose of having something easy to slip on and off so I could try on some boots. Haha, Carmen was the one who got all the fun stuff that day.

The reason for the shopping? Who needs a reason, but I actually had one:) Carmen was attending a Halloween party that night so we had to go buy some fun little items for her 80's costume!

Corrina's room

Corrina's room has been slow going, but I think we are almost there:) It used to be our room and then my studio and for some reason we painted it this UGLY dark plumish color. We switched all the rooms around about 2 yrs ago when I decided I needed more room for my growing business.

Corrina has wanted her room painted ever since and we finally decided just to do it. She helped a little bit.

Last weekend I had Matt hang some things for her and I then "decorated" them. Lots of family photos and a few scrapbooks I have made for her over the years. Baskets that I am sure will stay empty because that is way she rolls:/ An adorable clock from my sister Stacy that she brought back home from Greece:) Unfortunately it is broken, but can't throw it away. Fun little buckets hanging from hooks that are supposed to be used to put things in. The now have clothes hanging over them instead. She magnetic and peg boards are from Pottery Barn. We have had them sitting in a closet for like 4 yrs. These are also filled with love notes, pictures and foolishness already. The flag banner was made by me like 3 yrs ago. We strung it across her room. So cute!Her fun curtain:) Her bedspread matches, but she something else on there at the time. She hates this pic of her so here is a cuter one:)This one is from the summer, she is so hard to take a picture of, but she will take 8 million of herself.

Remember me???:))

It has been a few months, but I am going to try and be better at this blogging thing:) I am taking a huge step and am joining Lindsey over at The Pleated Poppy for WIWW. If you know me, you know that I hate having my picture taken. I am trying really hard to get over it and realize that I will always feel like I need to loose weight. Hey, I am a mother of 5 children and my body will never look the way it did before them. Not sure I would want it to, but a thinner me, I would take. So, here it is. (Don't get excited, I only I have one day to show you. Baby steps;))

Take Me Back Tuesday

I seemed to have missed a couple of weeks:/ After a very painful week of having my wisdom teeth pulled, I am finally feeling better. So, I will be doing my "weekly" Take Me Back Tuesday:)

My mom and dad divorced when I was 4 (I think).Even though I do not remember a life of them being married, this picture strikes a sentimental feeling. It may be the fact that I do not remember it and I guess most kids wished for their parents to be together. I would have loved to know what they were like together for those few years even though I am sure it was hard.

I do remember visiting my dad on the weekends.Look at how happy the two of us are:) My dad looks a little goofy, but this picture resembles how I still feel about my dad.

My dad soon married, Julie. When I was 7 and Adam was 5 we moved in with my dad and step mom. I believe that this was the best decision that was made. It was the structure I needed to become the person I am today and have the family that I now have. My dad and Julie have a marriage that I look up to. I learned from them what a family is and how to be a good parent. (my mother taught me valuable things as well. That is for another time) I am very thankful for them, but it took me to have my own family and to grow-up a little bit before I realized the impact of this.

From them I have 2 other sisters, Jennifer and Sheena.This may have been the only "professional" picture there is of all of us.

Thank you Dad and Julie for loving me and raising us right:)

New items!

I have been sewing like crazy these last few days. Why?? Because I am trying to forget the fact that my mouth hurts so bad that sometimes I can barley stand it:/ I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled out on Tuesday and the first couple of days were really not that bad, but the last few days have been awful!! Sewing has been the only thing that keeps my mind busy. Also I have been pretty much hiding in the house because I look like I have cotton balls in my mouth:/ Hopefully it will be over soon:/ I have neglected a few things around here, one of the biggest is my 5 nights a week circuit training which I actually miss, imagine that;)

So in light of my recent torture, I have gone mad and have been sewing and sewing. Here are some of the new ones in the shop this morning!

I have added a NEW category to the shop. Lots of people like to buy pairs of the Owl Bookends so I have added some matchers to the shop for a lower price then if you were to buy them each separately. I have don this before and they tend to sell quickly so come see if any of them tickle your fancy:) Another set. Although yesterday I added a few to the NEW category also. I wanted to have some really cute girly owls for the little gals so I have a few in the shop now. I have plans for ones with eyelashes. Can't wait to get started on them.
I just LOVE the pink and black!

Right now I have "sew" many owls in the making in my studio! I have owl garlands that are being filled and maybe finished today! I also have a new product that I hope to get busy on this summer. Oh and don't forget about the Christmas owl ornaments that I start in the summer. Last year I made over 250! This year I am shooting for 300! I really enjoy the process of the ornaments. They look so fun in a big bundle:)

So there you have it I have gone crazy from the pain in my mouth and have MANY owls to show for it!

I know, I know, I missed Take Me Back Tuesday, but I have a house full of sickness...................again. Who is the lucky one today? That would be Matthew. All of a sudden last night he just didn't feel good. For the first time in the last 15yrs that we have been together he called in sick to work:/

Anyways today's post is about Inspiration which was prompted by Gussy's blog. She started an Inspiration workshop last week that anyone can join.

So what inspires me? Many, many things, but today I will share this.

This super CUTE quilt!

I work with fabric so that appeals to me for sure. These colors on this quilt are so fun and bright I just love it! I am new to quilting (3yrs) and have tried my hand at 2 large one in the last 7 months. You may remember this one and this one. I would really like to make on of these quilts though, I could buy the pattern from her shop, but I don't do patterns. My quilts are done free hand ( I hate measuring).

I hate it when I can't find what I am looking for. I searched and searched for photos of my sister Melissa with us 3 older kids. My sister Stacy or mom must have them. I need some copies if that is the case. This is what I did find.

There is Melissa in the front carrying the teddy bear that is as big as her:) You can't see her sweet little face in this one, so I did some more searching and found this. Stacy and Melissa a little bit older. Are they not so cute?! Look at how proper Melissa is sitting. She is still like that. I love it:)

I have a few random things to share. Matt took these 3 fishing for the opener on Saturday. They woke up at 4a.m. :/ I managed to roll out of bed to hug them all good-bye and wish them good luck. As soon as they walked outside it started pouring rain! I secretly was hoping that they would turn around and come back in (what can I say I am a mother and felt bad that they were going to be wet and cold). They had a good time and came back by noon when dad had had enough of fishing with 3 young kids who needed him to do everything for them. Look at their little faces:)Little Miss Ava May turned 9 on Monday! I can't get over how old all my kids are getting. Every year goes by faster and faster. We just had a little cake and ice cream her real fun will be at the end of the month when she gets to have a party with her friends. Preston is loosing more teeth and now has a goofy little grin, but lovable:)

I added some NEW bookends to the shop yesterday.I have used big buttons like these on a bookend before. It turned out really cute:)

I made a rag doll with these fabrics last year and forgot how much I LOVE them together. So CUTE!

Yesterday I added a few NEW Hoots to the shop!I LOVE this bookend! There is just something so right about pink and black together:)It has been awhile since I have had these LARGE owls in the shop. This green and pink fabric by Amy Butler is to die for! Chenille is a hot seller in the shop! Meet Lemon the Owl!Amy Butler and Riley Blake for this hoot. I don't know if I have more Riley Blake fabric or Amy Butler, but I love them both.

As my kids grow and get older (and me:)) I tend to think about what I was like at their ages. This morning I was looking through old photo albums and the ones that brought the most emotion were the ones with my dad. Even though I am an adult I still feel like my dad's little girl quite often. Plus, he was so handsome so it is fun to look at him back in the day:)

It was really hard to pick one, but this is the one I will share.

There were no dates or ages on the back so I will guess. I might be 3 and my brother Adam must be 1. It was my dad's birthday so he must be about 24. The photo just brings a smile to my face:)

Remember when you were a preteen and all you wanted to do was be just like your friends? Every night Carmen has me french braid her hair after her shower so it will be crimpy (even though her hair is curly and beautiful). She set a trend and now her friends are all going to school with the same hair:)

The other day she had a couple friends come over after school and this is what they looked like walking home.Notice the same school bags? They were all giggling because I was going to pick them up, but they wanted to walk so I followed them and snapped some pictures with my phone.

I made them turn around so I could snap some more. They were being too silly to get a really good one.Speaking of silly....................I have tried and tried to get a good picture of myself by taking it the mirror:/ This will have to do. kiss kiss:)))

On another note, I added 4 bookends to the shop today!! Can you guess my favorite?

Trying to get back to the blogging thing. We will see how it goes:))

What Have I Been Doing???

It has been a LONG time since my last blog post:/ I do have good reasons. The biggest one is my family, it is really hard to find time to blog or to do the computer stuff. A mom of 5 keeps me busy and well they also take over the computer. I Sew Lucky keeps me busy which is a good thing:) Annnd, I have been on a few little house kicks lately.I have rearranged these items 85 times. Ok, maybe not 85 times, but close. If I had it my way I would paint this breakfast hutch white. I do love it, this was the biggest reason I fell in love with this house. The mantel has been rearranged a million times as well. The think is, it is just not right. I know what I want to do with it now, but we will see when I get around to that.

Another thing I have been up to is making pillows for the house. Do you see them in the back there? Some on the bench and some on couch.These two are my favorite. I would love to make a quilt with the brown fabric.
The quilt I did make is this one. I also made like 5 pillows to match and realized way too much of these colors in one place. Oh well, they are comfy.
This is the biggest quilt I have made. It is ALOT of fabric to work with. I bought the fabric on a Monday and finished on Saturday. I was in the zone with this project.
Here is the back fabric. After all that cutting and sewing the squares together I like the this side the best. Annnd I realized it doesn't match the living room very well. At least it covers the ugly brown couch. I would really LOVE a white slip cover. Probably not a good idea with 5 kids. Darn:/

Believe it or not I have made some NEW owls for the shop and have filled orders. It has been awhile since I had these bigger hoots in the shop that have a lot of details. Buttercream the Owl

An entire day to ourselves!!

My mom has been so great at helping out this winter!! This Saturday she watched the kids so Matt and I could spend the day out and about:) I know, you are thinking Corrina could be watching them. HA!!!! Yes, she will be 14 this July, but she is like any other teenager that has their cellphone attached to their fingertips. She can watch them when I run errands in town here, but when I will be gone for the day we need some mature eyes on the kiddos. My mom showed up bright and early at 8:45!! She was not alone she also had Zhaina that day:) Zhaina is the girl version of Preston, so my mom had her hands full with those 2 alone. Little did I know that she had half the neighborhood over here. The girls each had a friend over. We called around supper time to see how it was going and it sounded like a circus show!!! I couldn't hang up fast enough and thank God that I was not there:/
We finally made it home around 8:30:) It was a really great day! We accomplished a lot. Here are some of our treasures.I saw something like these in Pottery Barn magazine and had planned on getting one. This one came from Pier 1 for almost half the price!! I LOVE it. We couldn't leave with just one.I may even have to get a third one:) I also bought these glass balls to put in my glass vase. I LOVE these too:) I know it looks a little awkward. When the kids went to bed Saturday night I started putting up our new items and have moved them around like 20 times. Still working on it. I tired to take a picture so you could tell how huge this glass jar is!! It just doesn't do it justice. The cashier said they just put it out that morning. Lucky me:) Again, I am sure this will not be the last place it sits. But, I do like it in this room against the orange walls:)

We also went to Home Depot and got a bunch of things to redo are downstairs bathroom with. I would have rather been at Pier 1:/ But, we left with what we needed, a toilet and other things. It was so funny, on the ride home, I was telling Matt I couldn't wait to go home and look at all the new stuff and Matt said, "I can't wait and look at my.............toilet". Ya, he has A LOT of projects ahead of him. He did mange to put the new bench together the next day. It's a good start Matty:)

How my days are spent

We really have a pretty good life. I get to stay home with my kids, a husband that takes care of us all so well and I have a job that I LOVE! Could I ask for anything more? I know I like to complain a lot about how hard it is to be a parent. Some days, I think, "WHAT THE HECK AM I DOING???". And the guilt, oh the guilt. Never feeling like I am doing a good enough job. The other day I missed something that one of kids had going on at school and I have never felt like such a failure. I cried and cried some more the next day. She of course said it was ok and that she knew it was an accident. I understand that everyone makes mistakes. Matt always tells me I am good mother and we are doing the best that we can.

Luckily everyday I get to start over and try to do a better job. The first part of my days are spent with this little guy:)Lately I have noticed that he is turning into a "real boy". I feel a little sad that I no longer have a baby. He just is getting sooo big.

I have been busy sewing and I just mailed a few custom orders yesterday. I may be adding some owls that look like this.
He is a chubby little bookend. I like his big belly. I made 2 chubby bookends for a special customer.

These to are regular bookends, but they have cute little hearts on their belly. I think I may need to add some of these to the shop.

Today I have A LOT of sewing to do, but first I am going to get my morning cuddle time with this sweet boy:)

I know it has been hit or miss with me keeping up on here. What can I say, it has just been busy around here. The winter weather does not help my mood much either. BUT, today is sunny!!!! As I was cutting away in my studio I thought to take some pictures to show you what inspires me:)
SOME of my fabric stash:)) I love looking at these and I LOVE getting them in the mail:)))
I have lots of little jars of flowers, buttons, stamps, ribbons and other things.
Most of these are for my scrapbooking that I have neglected:/ Notice they are in jars as well:)
Another thing I have neglaected are my handmade cards. I REALLY wish I had more time in the day, but very thankful for how well I Sew Lucky is doing:) BUTTONS! I used to keep these in little tiny jars, but realized that this is much more efficient. Not to say you won't still find little jars of buttons throughout my house:)

Stuck in the house:/ Winter is never ending:/ But, today as you all know is Valentine's Day and thought I would share a little photo of Matt and I:)

Not the best quality, but it is one of my favorites of us over the last 15 yrs. This was about 5 yrs ago at the airport, on the way back from Disney World.

Here is one of the kids yesterday doing their Valentine's cards. Corrina of course is too old, so she is not in the pic.

Winter blues

Every year I have the winter blues in February. This year it came early. Living here in northern Minnesota, the winters are soooo long. Mornings are usually gloomy which has made it really hard for me to get on the dreaded elliptical trainer (have yet to hop on). We did however get a Wii fit and it has become a big hit with the kids. Me, not so much:/ It is really hard to get motivated. But, I have been very motivated in the studio:)) I added 26 NEW items to the shop yesterday!! The chenille owls have become the most sot after. They are pretty dang cute:) I only had a couple girl ones in the shop and finally got around to making some little hoots for the boys. You can also find them in white, blue and some other little girl ones in pink and yellow.

I only had 1 mini owl in the shop and add some requests so I have added a few of these also.The perfect little something for Valentines day or for any day.

The chubby owls are another popular item in the shop, so I had to add a few of them as well.Don't forget about the small hoots!I LOVE this color combo! Amy Butler's fabric with Riley Blake's, so cute!Hooty Hoot Riley Blake is another popular one.

Can you ever go wrong with black and pink? Check out this other pink and grey combo!

I also added 2 bookends. I am working on more, but have a wholesale order I need to finish first.

I have been busy in the studio sewing and cutting!! I thought it would be a little slow after the holiday but no break for me. It is a good thing:) I wanted something new for the shop so here it is! Chubby Medium Owl!

The chubby ones are quite popular so I thought a medium one would fit right in.

Christmas and END OF YEAR SALE!

Every year I look soooo forward to all the Christmas festivities and this year did not disappoint. The first part of Christmas Eve was spent with the just us hanging out and the kids playing:) They got to open their traditional jammie gift that they open every Christmas Eve. Even though they know that it is jammies it is always fun for them to see WHAT the jammies look like. I had to wait awhile to try them on since Grandpa and Julie, Jennifer and Sheena were coming:) I have become soooo bad at making sure I take pictures so the only one I have of them is this.My dad and my son:)

After we ate and laughed a bit it was time for the kids to put their jammies on:)He received the cutest jammies:)I tried so hard to get red jammies for all the kids and if you know Preston it suits him that he ended up with black. He just a little stinker.Sorry about this bad pic:/ Matt I got to bed around 12:00. That never happens it always ends up being 1 or 2 so you would think we good nights rest. HAHA!! Kids woke up at 2AM!!! It was our other stinker who was the head of it all.She looks innocent. Carmen and Corrina I guess made this master plan to set alarms and wake up the others but Carmen had her own internal alarm and woke up Preston and after that there was no turning back and having them fall asleep. We tried but they were just to excited. Preston fell asleep on the floor and Carmen went back to bed for a bit. They kept coming up to our room and saying it's after 8 (that is one of our rules) are you coming? And I would say I am trying, this is what happens when you wake up at 2 AM. So finally we crawled out of bed and the opening began.......................after I made some coffee:)I won't bore you with all the morning faced pictures, but this was the present I was most excited to give:) She has wanted on for so long and this year I she got her wish:) An American Girl Doll!!! Kit! She is sooo cute I wish she was mine:) Ava has been dressing her in her jammies every night and sleeping with her and in the morning getting her dressed and toting her around all day. I love that she loves her sooo much, these days will not last forever and are over way to fast.WHAT A MESS!!! But, really this makes me happy:) They will soon be grown and have their own families.It is soooo hard to get a picture of them without half of them not cooperating:/ This is the best we could do. When the company arrived Preston had just his white undershirt on and I MADE him put this on for the pictures and he whipped it right off after they were over. I HATE having my picture taken, but when we take pictures together it turns into a silly laughing fest and that makes it not so bad.We had such a fun time on Christmas day! I LOVE being with my family:)Just Dance 2 on the Wii was a big hit and Stacy I believe had the most fun with it:)))We had the fire going so they were a little warm but it did not stop them:)I wish we would have taken a family photo. I know these pictures are a little late and now it is New Years Eve!! Boy does time go by fast.

With all the orders I have been sewing up for the last month I have barely had time to enjoy my favorite holiday! BUT...................today I mailed out the last of my holiday orders!!! A little bittersweet to know it is over for now.

Every Tuesday and Friday I was mailing about this amount out. It was crazy!!!! I am sooooo grateful for all my customers!! Thank you so much for supporting my little business:) Next year I think I may need to hire some elves to help.

I LOVE CHRISTMAS!! It has been soooo busy in the shop (thank you so much) that we didn't get to get our tree the weekend after Thanksgiving. So we got one on Saturday and spent 2 days decorating and Matt spent Saturday night painting over the ugly grey paint. So, I have many pictures to share:)I have been working on collecting all these frames and such for awhile now. Matt hung all these up Friday night for me at like 1 in the morning. When he got home from work I had a list of things that I wanted us to get done:) A closer look:) The one on the bottom of the flower is my cousin Barb's beautiful photography:) She has her shop closed right now because of their very unusual and sooooo entertaining journey her and her family are on right now. Please read all about it here. She is the one who brought me into the awesome world of Etsy! ( I miss you Barb)I made these shadow boxes on Saturday with the spools of thread! I have to say I LOVE them!! Janet Hills print is another favorite piece of mine. Check out her shop, I can't get enough!A closer look at the spools:)A different view. The tree is quite full of ornaments this year:) Notice in the first pic and this one that the quilt that I finished Saturday night, is in a different spot. Now that I made it, I don't know what to do with it. It is bigger than I thought and chunky, but REALLY warm. I think it is called sheep something:/ Anyways, all I know it was frickin expensive.This may be my favorite Christmas decorated spot:) I need to add some Christmas lights around the frames still. I bought these stockings (which we LOVE) at Pottery Barn about 3 years ago.Gotta love Pottery Barn. I think I bought this in like February. It has been sitting empty until Halloween, but I have to say the Christmas decorations are much cuter. The advent calender on the top was made by me a few years ago. I fill it with candy (5 pieces in each one) for the kids to open each day. Lets just say that someone always gets their little hands on it and eats all the candy. Last year I think Preston ate them all one morning. He is our little stinker:/

Ta da!! Orange paint! We LOVE it! It is very different. Today I hope to do some more Christmas decorating in here. New chairs, lighting, art work and curtains for this room next.

Yesterday in the shop was crazy!!! First I met my 1500 sales goal for the end of the year!!! YAY!! Also yesterday was my highest sold items in one day! ( I think:/)

This size hoot is the most popular in the shop right now. I have been busy making some with Christmas colors. This is 3 of them. The blue one is in the shop now and hopefully the other 2 will follow later today. I have like 6 other ones that go with this collection. Sometimes I feel like I am little nuts. I have so many orders to get out the door and all I want to do is make new owls and new designs. It is an illness;)

Another example is this owl:) I had a custom order for a larger lavender chenille owl and I HAD to make another one so I could add it to the shop:) At least I LOVE my job:)

Tomorrow I hope I can set aside the sewing and have some quality time with the family. I really look forward to the Holidays!! The kids are so EXCITED for tomorrow, spending time at Grandpa Bruce's house.

I am just popping in to say Thank you for all the owl shopping going on at I SEW LUCKY! I am a little crazed right now because of a show I am doing this Saturday in WI. Me and the kids are all grabbing our pillows and heading out to my mother's to spend the night while the hubby gets to stay home alone and relax. It is just a small show, but my mom asked me to do it so how could I say no? I have a few things to put up in the shop next week. A little sneak peek at another one.

Actually as I was taking these pictures, I thought it really isn't that bad.Sewing table.Ironing board. I thought I would love having this on the door. But, it knocks around too much and the sleeping boys are on the other side of the door.My poor quilt waiting for me to finish it. MANY OWLS, waiting to be filled and sewn. I wish there was more time in the day.

I was making this cute doll off and on all day yesterday!My first try at little flowers on her dress. Turned out sooo cute, but I have great appreciation for shops who make these. They are hard on the fingers:/Also a new place for the pictures:) I love all the fabric in the back:)))

This weekend I was doing some Christmas shopping on Etsy and Big Cartel I forgot about this shop that I had hearted. JANET HILL STUDIO She is sooooo talented! I can't get over all the detail. I want every single print. Of course I needed one for my house. The one below is the one I purchased.
I just love the typewriter and the pillows. Look at all that detail! This one is my sister's favorite. So cute:) I think this one will be next on my list. LOVE it, EVERYTHING about it!

My most favorite holiday!! I love it!! Decorating is kind of a big deal around here. I would love to start now, but I don't think Matt would go along with that. Halloween is always quite the freak show around here. The kids are so excited all day to get ready for trick-or-treating and get all their candy.We has a hippie, a disco girl, a rockin' butterfly, wolfman, woody and Minnie Mouse. Quite the gang:)For the kids Halloween make-up I am used to putting on mascara and lipstick. I have never done anything like this. He would not stop talking which made it a little more difficult. One time I had to say stop talking so I can do this. After a brief pause and I do mean brief, he says, " I can talk in Spanish". We sure got a kick out of that one. These two were the first ones done trick-or-treating. Zhaina was hilarious, she was eating her candy like she was in a race. After a few minutes she couldn't sit still.

Soon enough all children were back home and the trading and sugar rush began.

I am waiting for the sun to come out so I can take some pictures of the new hoots! I made quite a few for the show I did this weekend. What a bust:/ The lady who was putting it on, did not advertise at all!! Not to happy about that. I guess you live and learn. Although I had a great day on Etsy Saturday! This cute little owl is selling like crazy!

I used up all the fabric the other day and thought, well, that is it:( I did a big search last night and found more!! I bought lots :) Now I can't find the pink. I think it is Micheal Miller, but I can't find it. Ugh!

The shop has been busy lately with these small owls "flying" off the shelf:)I have been relisting them and relisting them. You should see my studio. I have like 50 of these cut up and ready for the holiday season:)There are a few with the button eyes. Most of them have the felt eyes so that they are safe for the little ones.

Felt eyes! This size is perfect for anyone that needs a special friend. They are a great price at $20. You can't go wrong!

At TCC I met Lisa Leonard!She was so down to earth and just a super sweet person. I felt like if we would of had some time we to hang out we would have gotten to be friends:) Right when I met her she said we should do a trade. I made my way over to her booth and LOVED her jewelry! Another busy weekend put to rest, only to start another busy week! LIFE!

I made this adorable owl last week:)Meet Mushroom the Chubby Corduroy Owl:) One of my favorite local fabric stores had this mushroom fabric and the corduroy sitting next to each other and I quickly grabbed the two. I usually have new fabrics sitting around for months before I get to them, but this could not wait! Some of my owls have hearts on the back of them, for this I thought mushrooms would be the perfect touch.What do you think?

Fall is here!

Fall is my most favorite season!! It is so beautiful around here now!! We should have went and did our photo shoot last weekend, but glad we fit it in yesterday! Here are some of my favorites and I will be sharing more through out the week.Carmen! I wish we would have taken way more pics right here, but it was at the end of our 2 hour long photo shoot and the kids were climbing all over and making me NERVOUS!!! I HATE being in pictures, it reminds me how much weight I need to loose:/ Someday I know my kids will cherish these photos, I try and remember that:)The lighting is awful in this photo, I can't get over how tall my kids are getting! This was one of my favorite spots!This tree was another great spot!This was such a neat place to take photos! I took a ton!I took a bunch of Carmen in this little place and just LOVE them! She is so photogenic. These look vintage or something.

Does it really have to rain on the one day that I get to get my shopping on! I will have my 2 boys with me and it can be challenging not getting soaked while putting them in out of the car seats:/

The rain will take a little fun out of it. I need some minky for a custom order. I only know one place around here where I can get it. I am sure I will pick up more than I need at Hannah Johnson. She has the best store around!! So many Amy Butler fabrics, Joel Dewberry, Micheal Miller, Moda and sooooo many more!

I have been kind of bad at putting the hoots I made for TCC in the shop. But here is some eye candy:)

I HATE THE MORNING!

Getting up at 6 for the kids to get off to school is not one of my favorite things. I have learned that I need to jump right in the shower before I do anything else and have my coffee shortly after or I can not deal with the chaotic morning of getting 5 kids ready for the day! You would think at least I would have the weekend to get some rest. HAHA!!! Saturday we had to all get up at the same time as a school day and head off to Carmen's volleyball game!An hour drive there, was not something that sounded fun:/ We also picked up one of Carmen's friends, which added to the stress. It really would have not been so bad if Matt was there to help, but he had to work:/

Within the first 5 minutes of us getting there, Jonathan fell down a few steps, face first. That was a sign of how the next 5 and half hours were going to be!!!!!

The games were 4 and half hours!!! That is waaaaaaaaaaaay to long to expect my kids to sit there and watch anything. I brought a LOT of snacks to keep them busy. The boys brought some cars and Ava had some books and paper to keep her occupied. What do you think Corrina was doing???I will give you one guess;)

I felt bad for Carmen because by the time it was over I had had enough!! Next time Matt will be coming with!
I have been filling the shop with more fun owls! Here a few of my favorites!

My pictures have not been turning out that great lately. I have noticed they look blurry or furry or something. Am I shocked? The way the kids have it all the time and me and my butter fingers.................no, not really. I know I need a new one.

Oh How I Miss You

A couple of nights ago Carmen was going through all my scrapbook supplies and pictures that are waiting to be stuck in books. As she would show me her favorites I realized how much I miss touching all the papers and doo dads. A couple of years ago I started on Etsy selling scrapbooks and have some in my studio that never sold. I have been meaning to use them for my own pictures. Carmen found this one.I am going to use it for pictures of the boys together. I can't wait to start. While Jonathan is at preschool tomorrow I am going to start. He only is at school for 2 hours, so I don't know how far I will get. I am little rusty.This is the first page. Another cute page.I can't wait to pick out the perfect pictures of the boys.And another:)I can't believe I have neglected my first love of crafts for so long. All those supplies just waiting to be used.This is my favorite part:)

I know I was supposed to post yesterday........................but, life happened.

At Tcc I saw from afar..............Melody Ross! She used to own a big company in the scrapbook world. Chatterbox. I have so many products from that company. It is one of my favorites. Since I have really not been scrapbooking in a couple of years I was out of the loop. Actually it must have been longer. She was there doing demos and looked fantastic, BTW!

She left this card at the table that intrigued me. It was Brave Girls Club. I thought she must have gone through something in her life to want to create such a club. When I got home I looked up the web site which brought me to her personal blog. I was immediately intrigued and read and read for about 3 hours!!! I never spend that much time on the computer at once. There is a lot to read on her blog, but she is such a good writer! I felt like I was watching a movie. Her story was so heartfelt and sad and brought me to tears a few times. She has 5 children and has been married to her husband for 20 years and the struggles that they have had to endure in the last 7-8 yrs SHOULD be a movie. Just a beautiful story. If you have some time check it out. You will have to go back quite a bit, but I promise it is worth it!

I have to share some of what I have put in the shop.A small minky owl. This is Matt's favorite!I LOVE this one! I had these in the shop awhile back and they sold like hot-cakes. It took me awhile to get some more made. I have 3 big ones and about 7 bookends of different colors.This is the first of some of my SPECIALTY owls. I have some other cute little ones in the early makings. This one though was very loved at TCC!Another Halloween garland! I like the ones with the hearts.BOOKENDS!! I have some more of these that match in the shop! They are perfect for the Fall Season. A cute decoration for Thanksgiving.

These little girl Owl Ornaments were a hot seller last Christmas! I have about 10 if them made in different color combos. I have 3 in the shop right now:) Stop over in the shop to see.

I really met some very creative people at TCC. I did not however take very many pictures:/ Here a few that I did take.City Chic Country Mouse

Jamie was so helpful and just a sweet girl. Her mom was just as nice.Chances are if you are in this creative circle you are sure to know Lindsey! She came all the way from California! Her good friend Lisa came with her and I wish I would have taken a picture of her cute table. She asked me to trade with her and I jumped right on the chance to snag one of her awesome pieces of jewelry. I gave the little owl necklace to Carmen. (I will need to take a picture of it and share it with you soon) Sorry for bad picture. These girls had some very bad lighting down this way. I wish I was closer to them so I could have gotten to know them better. The little bit I had to talk with Maggie was so great and she was so informative about the business. She was so cute and sweet and her shop has the cutest stuff. Be sure to check it out! Also down here was Allora Handmade. OMG her stuff is so fricken cute! I didn't get to her table in time to buy one of her bracelets. I will be buying one from her shop! I LOVE this one!Isn't so cute! LOVE IT!! Check out her shop, so many cute bracelets, necklaces and other goodies. Another favorite booth of mine was Jenna Lou:) Her purses are so cool!! I am having one made! I cannot wait to get it! I also bought a little credit card holder and pouch to bring home to my girls. We got to hang out a little bit and she so cute and she had her husband with her part of the time as well. Rebecca Sower was there!!!!! She had a booth across from us. I could not believe it, I have one of her books from back when I used to be crazy scrapbooker. She has an Etsy shop which you can find on her blog. Her husband was with her the hole time, it was nice to know Matt was not the only one:) Melissa from Two Little Tots was there helping out Gussy, she stopped by with cute little twin girls to say hi!

Ok, I look ginormous next to her and her little ones.

I have said it before and I will say it again.............I am awful at this blogging thing! I do however have something to write about.

I was at the Creative Connection last weekend and have so much to tell! Today I will share some of my booth pictures and a few new things in the shop. My booth!He sat with me the entire time and did all the lifting! I love him so:))A Halloween hoot in the shop!

I opened my Etsy shop!!! What a long way I have come. Most of you probably don't know that I started my shop with scrapbooks and a little jewelry. My first love was and may always be scrap booking. There is just something about paper and pens and markers, oh my:) I have not been able to play with my supplies in awhile though. I hope this fall I will get some more pages done on the kids books:) Anyways, look how far I have come:)Bookends have become my hottest seller!The plush owls come in different sizes and soooo many different fabrics!Some have button eyes and some of wool felt eyes:)All different sweet dollies in the shop!Owl garlands come with pom poms, buttons or just plain.And now some have WINGS!Ornaments for the Holiday season!

There are even some of these little mini owls hanging around the shop:) I hope you stop by the shop and find something you like!

Well, since I was put in Better Homes and Gardens Holiday Crafts magazine for my banner.I thought I would have to make some new kind of banners that were a little more special.I have 2 favorites, this is one. I love these fabrics by Basic Gray!

And this one, just because I LOVE pink so much and this fabric by Riley Blake is so stinkin cute!! I have another one in the shop besides these 2 and I have a couple more to add! BTW, all these fabrics are also little owl ornaments in my shop. I have quite a few to add, but there are some in the shop.

The craft show ended up being a bust:( There was just no traffic. We are not sure what happened, we are thinking maybe it was the larger craft show that was going on in Duluth. What I do know is that our tents sure were cute!The entire tent!Owls, owls, dolls and my sister/helper:)A closer look.The other table.A closer look.This little desk was soooo cute! It was wood, I painted it blue and put scrapbook paper in the back and in the drawer and put new knobs on it. It was perfect for all these little hoots:)I could really pack this thing:) I framed my magazine feature. It turned out really cute. Now I can put it up in my studio.

My cousin Barb was right next to me. Our tents were like night and day, but really they each really were us to a T!Her husband built her awesome tables!! Her tables were just beautiful as is her work!I wish I would have taken closer pictures of her work! You can find it in her shop though at gingerleephotography.etsy.com.

So there you have it! It was so slow that we packed up early. Too bad:(

I will be filling the shop with lots of goodies in the next week or so. I put a bunch in there yesterday and will be adding some more today!

I first want to thank everyone for their awesome comments on my earlier post about the magazine:) I means a lot that everyone thinks it is great as well!

Anyways I am going to share with you some of the crazy sewing I am doing for the craft show next weekend.These are only some of what I have been busy doing! I hope I get everything finished before then. I have Ava helping me at night filling the mini owls. I will have to take picture of her working so hard:) All the kids can be really helpful. You can tell they are proud of what I so, they will bring their friends up to my studio and show them all the creations. Ava once said to her friend, " you can't touch them though, you might have dirty hands". So cute of her.

Actually yesterday while I was grocery shopping I saw it on the shelf and was shocked because it was not supposed to come out until today!BETTER HOMES and GARDENS Holiday Craft magazine! I was contacted late December and have bee keeping it a secret from the online world. They wanted my Owl Christmas garland made with Amy Butler fabric. I could not believe it!! So excited. They said this year they were going to try something different and needed a photo of me, they were putting pictures of the designers in the magazine. This part I was not thrilled about at all:/ It made me get busy and loose 30+ pounds. My cousin Barb took my picture. She has a super cute shop on Etsy.

I am on 3 different pages!!!!! So excited about this!! Everyone says to hold on for big sales to come. It will be fun to see what comes of it!!

He was so crabby when it was time for bed. He threw the biggest fit and he doesn't do that. He went under his bed naked and would not come out. I thought to just pick my battles. If he wanted to do that, fine. Matt got him out after he fell asleep.He fell asleep rather fast.

Friday was Carmen's party with her friends. This is one of my favorite photos of them.Next year they may think they are too old to play on the swing set:(They had so much fun together.

I have been adding some Halloween ornaments to the shop this year. Here was they look like. Their are a few different fabrics.

I will be adding more and the Christmas ones are in the making. There are only 3 more days until my BIG NEWS!!!!! So excited!!!

I moved some furniture out of my Studio and I have to say that I love the space it gave me. I love having one table in the room.All the cubes were moved from the back of the room and I put a cutting table back there instead. It so much better this way.The first picture is all my scrapbook stuff that I have not been able to use because I spend all my time sewing. It is Matt's first day of work today after he had 10 days off. I get really spoiled when he is on vacation and the kids as well. We had a great week. We always pack a lot in to the week. This week it was Carmen's 11th birthday!Isn't she cute:))))It was soooo hot and humid this day so we decided to head to our local outdoor pool and spend a couple hours there before we had this yummy cake! She had a birthday party with her friends on Friday.!

Jonathan always has the happiest smile on his face. He is having so much fun with his daddy! This is one of the reasons we love him (dad) so much!

I will ave lots to share for the next few days. We really did do a lot. We ripped wall paper down and painted (I HATE THE NEW PAINT). I painted furniture, we had a birthday party (2), we went to the lake, went to a family gathering ( I love doing that), I rearranged my studio and fit some sewing in at night mostly and there was probably more:) I will try and not be lazy and get those blogs in.

I think I have said this before. When I have to make 1 doll I have to make more then 1. That goes for the owls too. I just can't help it. I thought I would share the process:)10 little dollies all cut out and ready for the pieces to be sewn together.I have been sewing stitches around some of the dollies hair to add some more cuteness.All little pieces sewn together. Now I draw the faces on.All faces are now ready to be painted:)I love what they look like at this stage.At this point I get inpatient and only sew a few of them together. My favorite part is turning them inside out and seeing how they turned out. You can see on the edge of the table how I started some owls because I was getting inpatient.These little ones are the gals that will go in the shop. I tried something new this time and gave them little ruffle skirts. I LOVE how they turned out. It was a little tricky, but I think I got it.This is Mindy! I gave her 3 sets of ruffles. A closer look.She has 2 ruffles.

I have yet to fill the 3 dollie. So what do you think, do you like the ruffles?

While I am busy sewing and stuffing I came up with a new thing for Jonathan to do:)

Sleepover that is. Corrina had her "birthday" slumber party this weekend. Apparently they were up until 4 am. I am so glad we were no aware:)

I have been busy with the owl banners/garlands. I finished 10 of them this weekend.I have a couple new added touches to them. Some of them will have these on them:)LOVE these pom -poms!Some have buttons on them. The button ones are my favorites! I added this one to the shop already and will add a pom-pom one later.

This is always one of the busiest few days for us! Corrina's birthday is the 3rd and this year she turned 13!!!She has wanted a cell phone for a couple of years, I have always said she was too young and this year I still said that and surprised her with a phone:) She had no idea and she almost cried. It was really great!Matt said the night before, "can you believe we are buying our kids cell phones and make-up?". Time really goes by fast!Since Corrina is going to celebrate her birthday with her friends this weekend instead we went to my dad's for a BBQ and fireworks! Boys LOVe fireworks!

On the 4th we had another BBQ to go to at my mom's house!Once again Carmen took almost all the pictures so she is not in any of them and she hates having her picture taken...........gee, I wonder where she gets that from:/

I have soooo busy sewing and getting ready for the big surprise! Thought I would show you what I am working on:)These are all ornaments and some for the NEW banners I will be doing! I have been working on these for a couple of months. There are about 250 here!!!!

Once I am done stuffing all those ornaments this will be over flowing with them!! These are Halloween ornaments! Something new that will be added to the shop this year!

These little guys are for all the owl banners I have lined up to make! There is layer of owls underneath these hoots! And lastly, I thought I would share what I love about these owl ornaments!

I have pictures to share from our second day at the lake! It was kind of cold. I had my sweatshirt on, the kids didn't really seem to mind. Preston was in the water as soon as we hit the beach. Jonathan was the only one who did not go in. I don't blame him. Here are some of my favorites!

Just to go to the lake for one day turns into this big huge production. We eat lunch and dinner there so we bring A LOT of food, plus the kids think they have to be eating constantly. The fist day we went there was Father's Day and it was the perfect weather and just a beautiful day. These are some of favorite moments from that day The fam chillin in the sun:)

Today we "tried" to got to the lake for a little swimming and food:) It is about an hour drive for us. This should have told me "TURN AROUND!".Notice the blankets. You also can see the clouds, no blue sky in sight. I still was holding out, but the closer we got to the lake the lower the temp and then it started to rain. We turned around and ended up right back where we started. Matt and I felt bad so we stopped and had lunch at a campground.Notice the sweatshirts pulled over the legs and heads:/ It was sooooo windy. I was so glad we came back home. We took a little walk around the campground and took some pictures. Here are a few of my favorites.He is just so dang cute. It was cold, look at his toes all curled up:)Brrrrrrr!Now days it is rare that I get all the kids in one picture. I have to say that I love this one of them. This picture makes me smile:) As you can see in the above picture that some took their sweatshirts off. They were running around and said that now they are hot and maybe we can go swimming now. Too bad there wasn't a picture of me with all of their sweatshirts over my shoulders. I was COLD!! We did not go swimming but they decided to dip their toes in the water.

KIDS! That was the end of our adventurous day:) We will try again tomorrow.

As for the shop....................A new hoot is in town.

Yesterday was the first nice day since the children got out of school. It has been really hard on the kids, especially Preston who needs to get out and run off some energy. Today is another nice day for them to enjoy the sun.

Shop news...........I am almost at 1000 sales!! I will do a post when I am there! Hopefully it won't take too long. Here are some new items that are now in the shop. They were in the last post, but these are just single items.

Yesterday was Zhaina's birthday party! It will be the last time I see these 2 for over a month. They are taking their annual trip to Greece where most years they spend the summers there. I am secretly glad that this year they are only going to be gone a short while. Hopefully someday I will be able to take a trip there:)

I am adding and have added a few new items to the shop!!! I am getting ready for something very exciting that I will be sharing with you later this summer!! I CAN NOT WAIT!

New dollies and more!

It is a rainy day here in northern Minnesota. My boys are not going to know what to do with themselves. We have been outside so much lately. I think this is the first year since I started having babies that I have been outside this much. I usually have a little baby by now to take care of. It is nice just to relax and let the boys play in the yard and push them on the swing here and there. Maybe a fort will be built in their room today and I am sure much car playing will be going on. There is only 4 school days left for the girls and then I will have a full house everyday!!! YIKES!

Anyways here are the new items added to the shop and will be added to the shop.

Can you guess which one is my favorite? I will tell you.

It must be the white hair. Also these NEW and IMPROVED bookends. One of these sold yesterday as soon as I put it up.

It was my favorite of the hoots.

I went to go take some owl pictures this afternoon and Corrina once again had my camera last night. There were a much of her taking pictures of herself in the bathroom mirror. This was just too cute. But it didn't end there.

Carmen took some really good ones of Corrina! There must have been about 50 of them between the two. This was when they were supposed to be sleeping. I guess it could be worse:)

First of all I am so bad at this blogging thing:( But I thought since I have some new products that are entering the shop I will show you what a mess my studio is.

On my sewing table are 2 custom dollies that I NEED to get done this weekend and a few others for the shop. There are also a ton of owls at all different stages.
Some of these are bookends but most of them are my very exciting new collection of owls!

Some of them have been stuffed:) I have many more to do. But if you can tell in this picture, the 3 that have wool felt eyes instead of buttons. I wanted something safe for the little ones that they would not put in their mouths. Another really great thing I did with these special owls is made them with some very posh material!! A lot of minky and a lot of chenille. I really love this new collection of owls!! I hope that they go over well in the shop!

The thread is for the eyes on the owls and all cut outs are my owl ornaments! 200 of them so far:)
This BIG owl is made with super soft minky!! It is my favorite material! It is almost like it is not there it is sooo soft! The Amy Butler fleece also adds to the richness of him:) Notice the eyes...they are wool felt which were hand sewn on to made very safe and if you look really close you can see the stars in the eyes to make them even cuter!

Another different kind of minky! She is just so sweet. You can't go wrong with pink and brown!

Lovin the chenille!!! It is quite expensive, but I just thought it would really make this collection of owls be even more special for the little ones. The chenille really makes me think baby!

So there you go! I am in my studio a lot!! The kids have been really great with helping fold clothes and keeping each other busy:) This weekend I will be getting ready for Ava's birthday party on Sunday! She is sooo excited she has been counting down the days for a month!

My sister asked when I was going to do another blog. Sometimes, even though my life is busier then heck I feel I have nothing to say. For Stacy, I thought I would share some cute pictures of Corrina from yesterday.
I got the super cute vest for her at my cousin Barb's clothes swap. Her and Carmen are "sharing" it. She then added my scarf to it and wore that all day at school. Also she barely ever wears her hair down like this. It is soooo cute on her. Corrina had it going on yesterday:))

33 years old! I have to admit most days I feel older. The fact that I have 5 kids and never get enough sleep is I am sure the reason for this. But this morning when I came downstairs to this..
reminds me of how lucky I am:) A card from each child with their own little sweet words. I always tell my husband that the card that brings tears to your eyes is the one. His for sure did today. Preston had his very own rose to bring to me this morning. That is what he wanted to give to me for my birthday he told me a few days ago. His little signature on his card brought tears to my eyes.

Just seeing this picture with their names on it makes me feel emotional.

Usually I say my birthday is the worst day of the year. (Too high of expectations.) This morning made my day a very Happy Birthday!

I have not posted in awhile. OOOPS! Little Jonathan is on his 3rd day of a high temp:(

Poor little guy. It was soooo nice out today and he had a little window there that he felt good so he played outside for a like 45 mins. Everyone needs a little fresh air this time of year. It is almost time for dinner and he is fast asleep. I thought I would load some things up in the shop before I start the Spaghetti dinner.

That is what is going on on Etsy right now. It is little too technical for me, but I think the jist of it is that Etsy is not showing up on google the right way, which means low sales and low views. I know that for me, last year at this time was soooo slow that I almost shut down the shop. This time however I am doing lots of sewing and keeping a positive attitude. Here is my studio right now.

This picture is almost as old. I think it was about 9 yrs ago. Boy do we look young.

We went out for lunch and had Jonathan with us. Maybe next weekend we can have Grandma watch the kiddies while we have a peaceful quiet night out. We are really holding out for Matt's mom and dad to come back from their winter in Texas so they can take the kids for a night or 2. I would love to stay home and do nothing for an entire weekend. That would be the best vacation right now.

I was without a computer for 2 weeks. Ahhhh! My shop was neglected and my kids were not;)

We had to get a knew one and I had to learn how to use the new one. So here I am finally!! Today was Jonathan's birthday, I will have pictures to share tomorrow. Here are a couple cute ones from Easter.

I put a couple items in the shop tonight and maybe I will put some in tomorrow. I don't know if Matt will want me working since it is our 13 yr anniversary:)

Spring Break for Kids!!!

Luckily we have had nice weather for this break. They have been spending lots of time outside. The other night the older 2 had a few friends sleep-over. That was fun for them.

They played JUST DANCE on the Wii.

They also stayed up way to late. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be:)

I have been busy making items for the shop. Here are a few that are in the shop today!

I have a custom order for 2 little dollies and do you think I can just do those............................nope! I have started 12 dollies and a ton of bookends and other size owls along with minis, minis, and more minis. You really should see my studio right now........YIKES! Here are 2 matching dollies, bookends and some minis that are now in the shop.

All of these sold today except for the dollie.

Bluebell the rag dollie:) I think she is so cute:) Love the colors.Can anyone guess where this fabric is from???? MOM??? Target! I think it was a table cloth. (the flower fabric) It is sooo cute. Next thing I may make with it might be a pillow for our living room. The dollies name is Roxi.

I really like how the bookends fill up with the beans.

Tonight I will be working on another collection it won't be added tomorrow though. Too many things to do. On Saturday Carmen is having a sleepover with a 4 or 5 of her friends and Sunday my sister is holding a clothing swap. Busy weekend, but looking forward to it!

Craft show/fair season is coming up!! I love to them only if my cousin Barb is involved. It looks like I will be doing a couple of them for sure. In order to get ready for this I have been cutting out a ton of mini owls with the flat bottom.I started sewing them up last night and had a little help cutting off all the stings and corners. Are they not the best!! I love them so:)

First I had Carmen helping. She did NOT want her picture taken. I snuck one in there! Tonight she is going to help me make some Thank yous.

He also did not want his picture taken in fear of I would be using it for this:) He he:))) He is such a good little sport! And this little guy did not help, but he just looked so sweet as he was sleeping:)

This picture of Preston is from the same day, but he is such a boy, except for maybe the pink shirt which he says is his new favorite color. Dad did not like that. I get a kick out of him:)

It may be silly that I am actually writing this, but I truly felt saddened when I heard the news. Corey Haim died yesterday.

When I was growing up I had posters of him all over my walls. I had the biggest crush on him and would watch his movies over and over. My favorites were The Lost Boys and License to Drive. It just makes feel so sad that he has pasted. All I can say is

REST IN PEACE

A change of scenery!

I have been in the mood to move things around. This weekend I moved my studio around.

It feels like I have more room now. I have not scrapbooked for a very long time so I decided to get caught up on some pictures and do a little scrapbooking.

I feel so guilty for not scrapbooking when over half of my studio is full of it. I have stuff I will never use I am sure. It felt good to look at pictures and dig out all the paper and embellishments.

I like to write on a lot of the pages so the kids will know little stories about when they were growing up.....things that may be forgotten over the years. I used to be really good at writing down all the little funny things they would say and keeping journals for each of them and myself. Now I write in their journals once a year and mine.......................well it has been like 2 years. I think I will keep my scrapbooking stuff out on the desk and work on here and there when the mood strikes me. I finished this one today and hopefully another one tonight.

The last few days I have been doing very little sewing but I have been working on this slowly and finished it.

Spring cleaning and owl making!

I have been on this cleaning kick today! I HATE cleaning!! We got this big huge T.V. that takes up the top of the fireplace. I think it may be too high. The kids like it! Anyways so everything is being arranged in the house. Things are being put away and owls are being finished. Here are 2 more.

The picture in the back is from The Black Apple!! It really isn't the type of thing I like, but for some reason I just really liked this print. Now it is in the upstairs hallway. The owls matched perfectly:) Here is how they look in the shop.

Another reason I may be cleaning is because the shop is soooo slow right now. I will be ready when it picks up:)
